“Staragony”, written and directed by Ester Bellver, was born from a personal crisis in which she began writing about her life: all kind of anecdotes from her childhood, through her first love and all kind of experiences that make her question herself about her identity and her role in life. She never pretended that what she wrote became a show, but her friend Agustín García Calvo (National Theatre Award) proposed her to finish the catharsis in front of an audience, and so she did a selection, a dramaturgy, and staged it.
Its opening was in Aretxabaleta, it was then in Madrid for several seasons, at Montacargas, a small independent theatre on the outskirts and at the Theatre Triángulo in Madrid. From then, it has been in many different kinds of theatres, in cities such as Donosti (Theatre Victoria Eugenia), Granada, Murcia, Segovia, Palencia, Barcelona, etc… and many others theatres and venues all over Spain, including her remarkable final performances at the NATIONAL DRAMA CENTER –CDN, (María Guerrero Theatre at the National Drama Center) in November 2011, selling out and extending its run.
It is a show RECOMMENDED BY THE NATIONAL NETWORK and has recently been shown at MADRID’S FESTIVAL (MADFERIA 2012)
Actualmente prepara su próxima gira que comienza en estos inicios de 2012 por Basauri, Puertollano, La Cabrera y Sevilla.
