The modern creation of puppets for adults by Lafauna & La Tartana theater will be shown on Thursday, May 15 at 11:30 a.m. at the Galileo Cultural Center in Madrid, within the program of La Ventana Internacional del Teatro de Madrid. This new initiative of the Ministry of Culture of the Community of Madrid that premieres its first edition from May 13 to 17, 2014, presents creation shows in Madrid for an exquisite group of international programmers such as the representatives of the Buenos Aires International Festival , Edinburgh Festivals, Israel Festival or Festival Internacional de Teatro Santiago a Mil, Sundance Institute Theater Program among others, and cultural institutions such as the John F. Kennedy Arts Center for Performing Arts in New York, Bozar Theater in Brussels or FUNDarte in Miami, etc… with the intention that our work can go outside our borders. Our company shares programming with creators such as Miguel del Arco, Pablo Mesiez, Luis Bermejo, Asier Exteandía, Fernando Sánchez Cabezudo, Los Torreznos, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, among others...
"De las manos" is a work directed by Carlos Cazalilla, with a fusion of disciplines, theater and audiovisual, which mixes puppets, automata, actors, shadows and projections, giving rise to an original work with a futuristic environment. This first work by Lafauna in collaboration with the veteran company La Tartana tells us about how alienation and confinement may not be barriers to human imagination and how the search for beauty fights against the suffocation of the system.
