“SAMABÁ SAMADÉ, big elephant small elephant” is a show for children and families, created by an Ivory Cost collective based in Madrid that promotes African culture in Spain. This project was born from Javier Yagüe’s request for it to be presented at Cuarta Pared and it is directed by Marisa Lull. Wherever it has been shown, it has had a fantastic response and children have approached the fascinating African culture with surprise and excitement.
It tells us the story of a small elephant that gets lost from the herd. Through music, dance and percussion, the artists, helped by the audience, will help the elephant finally find its way back home. “Samabá Samadé, big elephant small elephant” is an energetic visual and musical show that speaks about how important it is to observe nature in order to learn about ourselves. Through African music and dance, physical interactive percussion and visual effects, we go into African culture and its primitive teaching.
The company Cultural Mandjani is a platform for the creation of artistic, educative and social projects related to African culture.
