AMOUR
Love always gives us a chance. Some children play in the country where everything begins. They strive to discover the world by transforming their universe. They imitate the elders, boldly and self-assuredly. They dare to love without knowing what its true meaning is. They do not hesitate to make enemies before even finding the word hate in their pockets. They know about smells, skin, caress, abandonment, shelter, desire. They don't know about time. And suddenly, more than sixty years have passed. Now, aged, they take out a multitude of words that fall like withered leaves from their pockets. They know about smells, skin, caress, abandonment, refuge, desire. And, paradoxically, they do not hesitate to make enemies when they already know the true meaning of love. They know about time. What they don't know is that love always gives us a chance.
AMOUR is a gestural play with masks, using no dialogue, in continuity with Marie de Jongh's previous shows, combining comedy with an intensely emotional story, aimed at all audiences. Adult theater for children and children's theater for adults. The Arriaga Theater in Bilbao and Marie de Jongh join forces with Basauri's Social Antzokia co-production to offer this beautiful poetic show.
