THE SPOTTED CAT AND THE SWALLOW SINHÁ
A selfish and lonely cat. A cat who enjoys a bad reputation for his surly manners among the other animals in the park. A jovial, happy, curious and talkative swallow. A swallow that flies smiling from tree to tree unaware of the passions that are awakening around her.
On the first day of spring, cat and swallow meet. And with a slightly silly dialogue the story of the cat and the swallow begins. They fill the time with walks and wanderings, with muttered words, with smiles, with languid and expressive looks, with cooing too. The other animals in the forest murmur. Where has a cat been seen walking around corners with a swallow? Cats are enemies of birds. There is an old unwritten law that dictates duck with duck, rooster with hen, dog with bitch. The cat has become a kind and friendly being. No one understands that under his rough and rough skin a tender heart can beat.
A suggestive puppet theater version for girls and boys based on Jorge Amado's story. A tender story of undeclared feelings and contained emotions. A sweet promise in the transforming power of love. A song to friendship, to tolerance, to nature in all its manifestations. Two narrators recount and dramatize the story using dolls, traditional and handmade toys, animated objects, puppets made from recycled material, shadows, and other everyday utensils. A staging that combines the poetic story in the voices of the two actresses, the theatrical game of the various protagonists of the story and the evocative and expressive power of music.
