Ensamble Bufo

Ensamble Bufo was born in 2013 by Hugo Nieto as a commitment to revitalize the language of the classics, seek their universal message today, make them accessible and fun, seek new views and perspectives in their texts and, ultimately, develop Starting from the classics, fresh proposals in which the artisan tradition of the theatrical trade coexists with the new languages and most avant-garde currents.
In Ensamble Bufo's creations, play is the fundamental norm that supports the acting work and the idea of company, to present the public with a party in which they are invited to participate. The actors play as characters, as a choir always present on the scene, as musicians and singers who interpret live music as part of their language, even as actors who distance themselves from the plot to introduce criticism or surprise to the viewer.
The productions of Ensamble Bufo are characterized by the simplicity of the staging, where the inspiration of the comedy of art and popular theater coexist, the ceremonial sense, the gesture and the poetics of emotions and the new technological languages to recover the best of the universal message of the classics for a 21st century audience.
